It was about this time that I got a slightly panicked message from England:
I am concerned with you amassing another fleet in Brest. This does not seam too the act of an ally. You are showing all signs of being in cahoots with Italy. I showed faith in you by building a fleet in Edinburgh and not London. So I replied:
No need to worry.I decided that if I fed him some specifics about Tyrolia falling, that'd mean that I had inside information and a bigger plan. And it'd make me sound more credible. I even sent a message to Italy saying that if England came asking questions, would he mind verifying my lie.
I am in "cahoots" with Italy, you're right, but very soon I'm going to make my move on Germany. Next turn, I'm expecting Tyrolia to fall to the Italians so he'll have a border with Germany too.
I also had plans to move to the English channel at this stage. We had never agreed on a DMZ there so I decided it was in my best interests not to ask permission.
To strengthen my lies even more. I asked permission from Germany to bounce into Belgium. I knew he could support himself and I'd be bounced away. He was more than happy to oblige!
